I always read the label. Probably states not for aquarium use. That's lots of work to tear apart your tank and redo the overflow. I would spend the money for aquarium safe silicone. $17 on Amazon for a tube of Aqueon silicone.

sorry to hear, but agree ,need to remove and redo ,sorry.. :(

Mold inhibitors bad.

Here's what I know about GE Silicones.....and they all say "not aquarium safe" for liability reasons.

Are you ready..... GE Silicone 1 (All purpose) is reef safe. They changed the packaging/label, but it's the same old GE Silicone 1 that Momentive has been making for years.

If you're using silicone on plastic (acrylic to glass or plastic to anything), than this is the GE silicone you want:

You'll find it in HD back where they sell acrylic sheet.

AND, here's the important part....let it cure for as long as you can. For me, a week minimum.

And as Edith Anne would say, "And that's the truth.....pppffffffffhhhhhh!":cool:

After much denial, and a few mental breakdowns, I have finally learned acceptance and removed everything I used this silicone on. I used vinegar and water to clean the glass. What is the best ge1 silicone to buy now? Thanks
