My guess would be the zoas are inverting, ending up looking like a mushroom.

Yup they like fold inside out, and some of the mouths starts poking out ? Could be a lighting issue but i am running ai sol, could also be a flow issue so i put a koralia in there, water params are good.

I have a small colony of Tubbs blues that "inverted" last week when I tossed them into a half cycled frag tank!! lol -They bounced back in about a week as the tank became fully cycled...had to have been a negative reaction something though..

Only time I ever experienced that was when they were down low in the tank and stretched for more light... Like in a shaded part etc...

Both my happy and red people eaters did this: the ring on the inner edge of skirt seems to strangle the center till its everted. Both colonies ended up melting, havent seen any other ZsPs do it since.

I have palys do this every now and then...I just leave them alone and they always bounce back within 24 hours
