Hello! Im Thor from Norway. I have been out of the hobby for several years but tomorrow i am picking up a tank again!:)

The tank is a 40 Gallon (180 litre= TMC tank (l,h,w,90cm x 45cm x 45cm) with a 24 gallon (110 litre) sump.

It is a used than than comes with a lot of gear and some live rock. I think im going to switch out the live rock for new rock if it does not fit the aquascape i want.

The light on it is a older Maxspect 160w 16000k.
It has a unze Comline Doc 9016 skimmer, 2 Jeabo sw 8 and a Jeabo return pump.

Looking forward to sharing this jurney with all of you! Im also looking forward to all the tips and help from this forum:)

The first think i am going to do is decide on what color background. I want the tank to look really clean. No caralline algea on the backglass.
Does anyone have suggestions for color? I dont think i like the regular blue.

Welcome to R2R Thor. :-)

If you have the patience for it a black back kept clean and without coralline algae growth always looks the sharpest to me.

I picked up the tank yesterday. Home late. Spent all day today cleaning it!:)

Here is a before picture

I was wondering..is there any good way to make a better overflow on a TMC signature 900?
Today its just a hole in the wall, 90 degree bend on the back into a tube down to the sump.

I have looked at the tunze wall overflow, but the predrilled hole is to close to the side wall:(

I little error here, Its a 48 gallon tank:)

So everything is set up (almost) and the tank is filling:) Looking forward to sharing pictures here:)

Okay, so i found a sulution to this. Im going for the Tunze 1074/2 overflow (over the edge) and using the standard overflow in the tank as a backup if the tunze stops. This will hopefully dampen the sound.

Okay, so the tank has been running a while. This is my test results today:
Ammonia <0.15ppm
Nitrate 10ppm
Nitrite 0 ppm

Anyone know where in the cycle i am?

I am back. Just moved to a new house where there was a spare room. I use it as my office and reef tank room. Filling the tank right now:) Also added new rock.
