Those who have/do run Kalk...

I am planning on using Kalk on the 110 gallon I am in the planning/setting up stages. And I have a few questions about Kalk, as I have never ran it.

-Pros/Cons
-Run it with ATO
-Or with a Kalk reactor
-Mixture of both

I have been planning on just dosing it with my ATO (ran by a RKL), but I have been looking at using a reactor (probably an AtomicReef when they have them out, they look awesome.)

on a 110 I would do 2 part and not mess with Kalk just bc the PH swings will be a lot. 2 part is just easier and more consistant.

I used kalk for a little bit in my ATO. I really didn't have sneed for it at the time. I am thinking of starting it back up. I also have a reef keeper running my ATO. I had no ph swings while dosing because it would dose with evaporation. I did have the ATO stuck on so it dumped about 4 gallons (out of ten) into the sump. Still no I'll affect from it.

I say go for it, and only use it in the ATO. That way if you don't like it your really not out anything.

I use kalk in my ATO just keep an eye on your alk make sure your dosing the right ammount. You don't always need full concentration of kalk right now I'm only using 3tsp/5g I go through like 2g/day in evap

control by Ph if you have enough evaporation then you can supplement with topoff water

I dose 2 part with a doser. I also use kalk in my top off. 1 tsp per gallon. I can honestly say that since using the kalk, the growth on my SPS has exploded.
Also Ph stays more consistent.

I tried kalk and didn't have any luck with it. I ran a relatively small amount in my ATO and my corals didn't look as good to me. Many use it with great success but it wasn't for me and my tank.

That was more or less my plans. I have three BRS dosing pumps and an aqualifter for ATO. I have also heard of people using a dosing pump and just running small doses of Kalk at night. Anyone done this? Thanks everybody, just trying to cross my i's and dot my t's before I get this up and running.
