Don't really post as my tank has always done so poorly and looked so bad. It has taken somewhat of a turn around though as of the last year. Still don't have the Chris Ray or Chris Dowdy coloration but I am getting good growth. Actually my growth is so good I am having a real hard time keeping alk and cal dialed in and is probably the reason for my lacking colors. Hoping to get there someday. :)

Hope I set this up correctly as I have never created a post with a pic of my tank before.

Thank you. I realize it is a terrible picture. I just snapped it with my iPhone.

nice size colonies!

tank looks great!

Beautiful. You have skills.
Lol. If you knew how hard I have struggled you wouldn't say that. I really appreciate it though.

and to everyone thank you for the kind words.

Chris, you seriously have one of the cleanest, nicest reefs around. I dont know what got into your head to think anything differently.

Accept the TRUTH. You have amazing skills to grow an SPS tank like that. :hail:

That's a great looking tank. Nothing to be a shamed of there. I wish mine looked as good and I'd post more pics of it.

Once again thanks to everyone for the kind words. What I have found is that keeping the alk and cal stable is the key along with feeding the tank like crazy + using a supplement like seachems reef plus while having a good clean up crew to take out any algae growth ( I owe the feeding tip to Jay ). I have to say I am feeding feeding feeding and I still fear my clean up crew is starving as I just don't really have any algae besides coraline growing.

At one point the tank had a ton of the red turf algae in it but a couple of Turbo snails took that out and it hasn't come back.

I think my lack of coloration is definitely due to alk swings. Like I said I am having a really hard time keeping them steady. I went from using a one gallon jug of 2 part a year to going through the same amount every three weeks. It is ridiculous (In a good way).

Chris, let me borrow some of that color you have and you will not hear me complain again lol. You can see my lack of color in the frogspawn and the birds nest.

Man that looks AWESOME! Another poster that believes you should be a little easier on yourself ;) Great Job, I know lots of hard work went into it :)
