12tsp of kalk in 9 gallons of RO for 'topoff', and by topoff, I really just mean timed using an Aqualifter.

I run a large calcium reactor at full bore, and I top off as much as 40g a day during the summer time with all Kalkwasser.

Combination of both supports a huge number of corals with very little effort on my part.

40g top off! That's no biocube! How big is your system?

Their sig says 1100 gallons total, but considering that the Steinhart Aquarium's 212,000 gallon system loses around 80g daily, I think the numbers are wacky somewhere. Their sig mentions a frag tank outdoors, so maybe that has something to do with it.

All my filtration equipment is located outside. I use evaporative cooling which greatly increases the evaporation. I have a 250g rock sump and a frag tank that is 6x3x1.5. For the last few weeks the weather is near 100 degrees and we have low humidity.

Even on a rainy day with the amount of exposed surface area I have I go through at least 10g.

That's awesome. My tank would freeze here in winter if I had anything like that. Otherwise I'd say forget the koi pond hahahaha. My 90 w/ the 55 sump only Evaps 5g/week. I

I haven't tried kalk on my own system but I see great results both ways. I can only imagine both would be twice as good.
