As r2r grows and other sites grow we will need to find ways to keep our name at the top! We can have all the information in the world, but why should people come here first? R2R is unique in its general attitude towards ideas that normally get other sites frustrated and treats everyone, even the lesser liked members, like family. It takes a large problem to get banned and most of the time the issue is verbally resolved rather than anonymously reprimanded. That's the biggest reason I see when new members talk about why they joined, including my own. This is one reason I care so much about R2R.
Thinking about ways to recruit not only members, but new companies and organizations is key to keeping the pace going. Sometimes it takes a lot of volunteer work to make progress, but in the end it usually pays off.
As old reefers get old and new reefers are born the technology of the hobby improve along with the means of presenting information. The world is only getting faster, even the music!
How many times have you heard someone say, "that looks like a good read, I'll have to check it out sometime" and forget to read something that would have benefited them?
The majority of the population puts aside more time to watch TV than read, and more and more people are relying on their phones for web access than anything. You probably have to squint to read this now!! Lol! I know I do.
To me, this reduces the amount of information I can take in at one time while on the mobile device. Even the iPad gets strenuous at times. My laptop even makes my lap sweat after what I, I regular bulk writer, consider a "good" read. (20,000ish words).
We are information sharers, gatherers, and presenters. It is our duty to present it in ways that benefit the viewer and bring attention. As a writer, I feel I am obligated to make my points easily understood and presentable.
What is your opinion on a new medium for presenting Reef2Reef's information to the world that will help us grow into a bigger better place for enthusiasts?
