Looking for feedback on my first aquascape before I commit. Tank is a 48g Reef Octopus T90. The outer edge of the tape is the perimeter of the tank.

Looks good. Open structure, lots of mounting options. Two things I'd check. Can your cleaning gear (scraper, sand vac, etc) get to bottom all around the structure from a normal cleaning position? Second, some of those rocks look a bit loose, if they're glued/cemented that's fine but if not, could cause some issues when go to mount frags and/or urchin or bigger snail moving around.

Thank you for your feedback. The structure will be epoxied and cemented once I commit. It looks like I’ll have about 3-4 inches clearance between the glass and the widest points in the structure. Do you believe that will be too difficult for cleaning tools to navigate around?

So...I did same thing. Figured it'd be fine because I left room. Then when I go to use my gravel vac, I bump against the rock above it as I'm trying to clean from the front and I can't get the back because the overflow got in the way. I manage it just fine, more annoying than anything. A dry run with the actual tools would've saved me some work though.

Have you thought about making it more modular? Maybe having two separate structures that fit together to make it appear as one. That way they can be moved around, removed if necessary, etc. I would try to avoid gluing it all together as one large structure if you can....I have learned my lesson over 15-20 scapes lol.

I did think about that and should have trusted my gut before mortaring it all together last night . Welp, here’s to my first mistake! Many more mistakes to come !

Oh well, at least your scape/tank is small :-) You never think you will have to remove your rock until you have a fish that needs removed, algae needs cleaned, etc. I designed mine with three separate structures for that reason....I have even had to move individual structures as coral grows to increase/decrease light or flow. Your scape looks good though....good job!

I think it looks great. I am assuming that is Marco rock? I am getting ready to aquascape so I appreciate seeing everyone’s creative ideas. I am going to have to borrow the modular idea. :)
