Thoughts on brushing off rock with a tooth brush?

Wondering who else brushes detritus, algae, cyano, and other material off rock?

Adding new "white" rock to existing tank. Dealing with some cyano etc
If it's a new toothbrush, go for it. Try to keep a net or siphon handy to such the refuse from the tank.

I do it all the time. Did it today lol. But only if there is an issue (algae). Just so happens the rocks I have issues with are also removable making it much easier and not spreading the algae every where. Basically at water change time after I get a lil tank water in a bucket I go to work.
