Excellent Thanks.... Will have to get 2 of them instead of the one with 2 fans integrated as I have them mounted on both ends in back of the canopy. Also check if with 1 controller I can control 2 separate fans...

Thanks once again....

Great. In what settings you use it? I think I will go with the bigger option depending on sound level.

I have it on high, u cant hear it at all.

Perfect. Thanks.... That will be the route. I will check once I get home to see which one will fit better.

1 controller will control as many as 4 separate fans.

Dead silent. Mine fluctuates between 60-100% depending on the internal canopy temperature. I have it set at 80 and it doesn't start ramping down till the temp is 2 deg below setpoint then drops approximately 20% for every degree drop. This is with the thermostatic controller. You don't need to get the thermostatically controlled version though.

Do you have the fans blowing the water surface or direct to the lights? Heard that if you blow at the lights can longer their life span and cool down the water temp as well. Is that true?

I have my fan blowing air away from my lights, seemed to lower the ballast temp about 3 degrees, didnt seem to affect my water temp much but I have acrylic lids.

If you could keep us posted with updated that would be great im getting ready to start my build and I was going to use the same fans. There is another guy on here said he uses those same fans and he recommended them

Blowing down to and across the water surface. The lights have their own fans.

Check back when you are ready to pull the trigger. I couldn't be happier so far. I will be off the net for a week here in the next 4 days so if you are looking for any input during that period you are out of luck. But really, I am happy so far. that could change in 6months though...

FWIW, this is how they look from inside the canopy.

Technically, no, they don't shine through. Yes, you do get some light that makes it out but the lights are pointing down and not "shining through". You get similar spill from the fans as you would on any adjacent walls due to light spill from the tank itself. It is not noticeable to me and it never even was something that considered until you mentioned it. I will take a shot when the lights come on in a few hours.

This is the light spill...
