Hello Reef2Reef! I have quite the cyanobacteria problem, there's a big carpet of it on my sand and it's starting to climb its way up onto the rocks and glass. I've tried everything to get rid of it, larger water changes, cleaning filter more thoroughly, cutting back the photoperiod, and cutting back feeding a little bit. My nitrates and phosphates are 0. My LFS is telling me I should get ChemiClean, but I'm a little iffy about using that stuff. I was going to just wait it out and see if the outbreak would pass, but it's just getting worse. I've been considering using ChemiClean as a last resort. Any thoughts? Have you had bad or good experiences with ChemiClean, or have you defeated cyanobacteria another way?

Worked great for me. Dose, add an air stone and about 3-5 days later its gone. Worked wonders for me. Take out carbon during dosing and after gone add it back in and do at least a 25% water change. I left the airstone in for about a week after. Just to be safe. Using chemiclean depletes the oxygen.

I used Chemiclean with sea horses worked great. But I would advise maybe dosing half and see what happens. You can always add more of it, but can't remove as easy.
