My 3year old Peacock mantis shrimp died last month and I want to try something new in the 40 gallon breeder she lived in. I can not run a sump on this tank so I had been using both a hob filter and a canister filter with great success. Water parameters were always great. Would like to try a tank containing a dwarf lionfish and a dwarf golden moray eel. Because of the eel, I'm going to have to build a secure screen top for the tank.

Any suggestions on what type of filter I can use on this tank now that it has to be covered. I know I can't leave any cracks in the cover or the eel will find it! Again, a sump is not an option due to space constraints.

Thanks!
