I have one works as advertised. I clean mine every two weeks and by clean I mean rub off in some fresh water or it gets finicky

I would not call it quiet. Luckily it runs for short periods of time and infrequently.

I have used this unit pretty much the whole time I have been in the hobby. Make sure the probes stay clean and are positioned so that once not in the water they will be dry. If the probes get any spray on them or precipitation from say Kalk on them they will not function correctly. This can leak to being stuck off (spray keeping high or low water line probe wet) or stuck on (nasty probe covered and conductivity doesn't change when high water line is meet.)

My pump is in a different room, so its not noticeable usually, but I can tell when it cuts on if the room is quiet.
