Thoughts on Introducing a Gem Tang

Did you move your black tang up also? My Black is a total baby and gets along with everyone in my tank, including two purple tangs.

Not yet. It's a complete wimp ....

Planning to reintroduce the purple tang either this weekend or next. Fingers crossed.

After more than a full month in time-out, I reintroduced the purple to my main display a couple of weeks ago. While the purple and gem still do not like each other, removing the purple has 'reset' the pecking order and they appear that they will co-exist. Removing a fish from a large reef tank is a pain in the petard, and a last resort, but it is usually effective.

Lol... I've had a gem, yellow, purple, and desjardini in a 180 for about 8 months now. Half the time they are the best of friends, the other half they are beating the **** out of each other.
