I am starting a new build. 225 gallon predator tank. Tank is 40 inches in depth. I know lighting for this tank is only dependent on my liking. My debate is and LED system (Kessil 360 N) for the depth penetration and shimmer or metal halides. The heat from the halides is not a major concern as my filtration room is in the basement which is a consistent 60-65 degrees.

Open for any thoughts. Thanks in advance.

I'd probably either cheap out and do standard non-reef-capable lighting, or I'd go kessil for the unique shimmer look. from your two options I'd absolutely go with the kessil.
