thoughts on mixing saltwater & the initial fill...

So I've got one 32 gallon Brute trash can that I'll be using to mix saltwater. My total water volume will be in the neighborhood of 130 gallons. I've got my own RODI ready to go. So here's my question.. To avoid buying more trash cans, can I fill the one I have multiple times and "batch" the newly made saltwater into the tank? I think I'd like to mix the salt & RODI water thoroughly in the can before adding to the tank. Anyone have any suggestions?

As long as nothing else is in the tank than rock and sand, I see no issues with filling the tank with RODI water and putting in the correct amount of salt for that much water, and having the tanks heater and powerheads mix it up for you. You could also heat and mix each trash can full of water and then put it in, but just seems like a lot of wasted time in my opinion.

I would fill the tank it's self with with RODI water and heat it to 75 degrees then mix the salt in. The downside of this is when you add sand the tank will be cloudy for awhile.
