Thoughts on mounting 16 prime hd to my Fluval flex

Hoping everyone is having a great day. I have a Fluval flex 32.5 that I want to mount 2 prime 16 HD lights to. Having cats, I need to mount the lights this way. Are there any drawbacks to mounting them about 3 inches above the water?

Mounting led ai primes that close to the water surface will cause loss of spread which could be important to you as well as heavy saltcreep on the leds which you will need to clean every so often. Also I am not sure if they are waterproof so you may need to check on that to make sure they can be that close without damage.

I'd be really worried about water splashing them at that distance...ng

I would go higher rather than lower. Get the ceiling mount cables and hang them. I have cats as well and they can't quite figure out how to jump on the little box because they're blocked by wires.

Thanks for the replies, I am just going to remove the hood and put up a screen top, and hope the cats don’t get any ideas.
