Hey all, was hoping for some discussion on the new green BTA I added Saturday night.

I purchased the BTA from a very reputable LFS in my town. They had about 6 in a basket, and I chose the one with the bubbliest tips. At the time, none in the basket had much tentacle extension, so I chose the bubbliest.

Got it home, temped then drip acclimated it for an hour. Turned off my pumps and set it down in a rather neutral flow/light spot and let it attach. Took all of 5 mins for it to get a good grip. Turned the flow on and it wandered for about 30mins until it stopped where it is now.

My concern is that in the time since it has been in the tank, it has not extended its tentacles more than the above picture. Another concern is that on the edge where it has its foot pinched in, there looked to be almost massentrial filaments, an area of maybe 2mm by 6mm.

It has not moved since it found its spot, and always maintains its bubbles and its current tentacle length and its mouth has not gaped at all.

Is there any chance I purchased a nem that was about to split? Might it be splitting from the stress of the new tank? Does it appear bleached?

Tank info:
30 gal 3-4 year old system
2 black boxes ~60%blue and minimum white
2 powerheads
2 hob aquaclears running floss

Params:
salinity 1.025
trates ~5 (salifert)
phosphates .05
alk 9
mag ~1380 (salifert)

I know the tank it came out of at the store runs anywhere from 20-40ppm nitrates, and I have been trying to get mine up to around 10, but can't seem to do it, they always hover around 5.

Well that's about all, just concerned about it, hoping for some input. And no, I haven't fed it.

It’s a little bleached but otherwise it looks good. I would give it a little more to acclimate to the tank since you just got it. They usually take a week or two to settle in

Other than a little bleached looks good. Mouth looks good and you said foot looks good. I would give it a bit more time.
