I have always had regret about placement of my overflow. Was thinking of draining 1/3 water from tank, installing a Modular Marine overflow and taking out the current one. Crazy?

Great if it works but what if the tank cracks when you are drilling or removing the old overflow? It may come apart easily but it might leave an ugly mess where the old box was and will you be ok with that?

Getting a new tank configured like you want and swapping it out would be another option but it would also be a lot of work too.

Ok ok, I’ve been accused of “the enemy of good is better”. Annoying as I had a tank crash and started over this past winter and missed a chance. So happy with everything now after enormous amount of effort. Can’t imagine doing all over.

Also, came across a post of people gluing frags to glass. Never thought of that. Coralin Algae seems to be going well too.

i don’t think it would be worth the risk to drill a tank with livestock in it. Beyond my confidence level for sure!

Excellent. Glue or use an "ugly magnet" to mount a frag on that box and turn it into a colony-wall instead of just a plan old overflow!
