Thoughts on pH and CO2 scrubber

Just an FYI, I saw the tunze rep say yesterday of BRS group on FB they did quite a bit of research into using air from the skimmer cup and found it reduced skimmer efficiency quite a bit over time. Now coupled with scrubbing perhaps it's not an issue. Sorry I don't have more details but it's a pain to search FB groups. I just happened to notice that particular post.

I personally use a scrubber and DO NOT recycle the air via the skimmer. What I did notice is when I first set up the scrubber I used more media for the first month or so. Then over time it lasted longer. I attribute this to combating elevated CO2 levels in my tank that were very high to start , so I burned through more media early on. As the elevated CO2 levels lowered and normalized the media consumption also lowered and normalized.
