So, I seen that these rocks have great reviews on amazon. And yes I probably should buy this in my LFS but, they are super pricey. So, when I came across this I was amazed but, skeptical.

Has anyone bought these dry rocks??
Or what are your thoughts on buying this rock. Is it worth it or not?

Should work fine. I've bought rock before from marco rock, also classifieds

I seen some reviews that said I need a power hose to wash the sand away thoroughly. But, I do not have one. Did you wash it in ur tub or u had a power hose?? Also, did it adapt to your tank. For example, any algae or corals on it ??

Not sure if this was the same kind I bought, but yeah it had a ton of excess sand/gravel type stuff on it. I just threw it in the tub and washed it off. It's insanely heavy by the way, very dense, but I like it a lot.

I bought some in the past and referred a bunch of friends too.. I didn’t have a power washer at the time but I did hose it off as best as I could. There was a lot of sand like most reviews stated but happy with the purchase. I had the typical new tank algae bloom due mostly because I have high TDS and no RODI system at the time.

I’m starting a new tank build now, just installed a BRS Rodi system and I have 80lbs of this rock coming tomorrow!

Honestly, I couldn’t tell the difference between them and many other brands that are triple the price. I think it’s just a brand name kinda thing.

I used it. Soaked for a few weeks to really soften the excess sand and it blew out under a normal garden hose. There are large enough voids that my blenny has made a home in what I would have thought was a solid rock!

Came with a number of large rocks that I busted up and assembled (drilled/pinned)

Photo was a couple months after cycle. Purple rock in the middle was a seed rock from another system.

Will need to hose off the lose stuff and dust. Also need to let it cure for a month or 2 outside the tank so the phosphate can leach out. Its basic dry base rock. It will work.

Wow your rock structure looks great! So, do u recommend I soak them in the tap water for about a month?? If so, do I rinse the soak water daily or have it soaked there until 5-6 weeks are up?

I do not have a hose to rinse any of the dust :/ do u recommend any other way? And this is my second go around. My first tank I enjoyed it but, I didn’t take it serious like how I am trying to do it for my second time. That being said, how do I cure the dry rock?

If your going to soak for the 5-6 weeks then I would do a mini cycle with them in salt water and maybe some bacteria
I already have a tank cycled, I just wanted to add more rocks. Does that mean I have to get a small tank enough for these amazon rocks to start a mini cycle with them?

I had mine in a Rubbermaid with salt water that I didn’t change the entire time.

You don’t have a hose, but I bet there is a diy car wash place somewhere. $2... Layout the rock and go nuts. Not what I did, but it would certainly work.

If this is the same kind of rock, which I think it is, this is how mine looks. I had a heck of a time trying to break up this rock down the middle lol. Took about an hour, but it seems that the edge pieces can come off pretty easily.

Wow thanks for the idea. I wouldn’t even think about going to a car wash to do it. So, once I do that, I should let it soak in a bucket and change the water like 2-3 times with 5-6 weeks?

Mhmmmm well adding new rock into an already cycled tank is going to basically start a new cycle
I hope this is true because i will be upset that I cannot add any more rocks to my tank that I have running now :(
