Thoughts on this LED

Never seen them and am always on ebay lol , but they do look like the generic china brand ones . We put them in most of our clients tanks and everything thrives

There are a lot of Chinese led fixtures out there, some like OceanRevive are designed in the US and made in China and some are purely Chinese like EverGrow and some are purely Chinese and sold by US companies like Reef Breeders or Reef Radiance (who both buy from beeter Chinese manufacturers). But who makes the fixture you're looking at? I'm sure it's not Motohome66 (the seller on Ebay). So how do you know if it's made by a quality company or a somebody selling cheap Chinese junk? There are both extremes out there. The seller doesn't tell you what brand they are and the fixture doesn't have a name on it... sooo, who takes care of the warranty? I just visited a customer who has 9 month old Chinese fixtures she got from a seller in Miami and they are dim (less than 200 PAR at 6" under the light) and the cases are VERY rusted. I'd play it safe and spend a few extra bucks and buy from somebody who is a sponsor here and has a good reputation. BTW, the new OceanRevive T247 fixture has an aluminum case, no rust! And built-in 2 channel timers. And has 2 digital dimmers (no dimmer knobs). And only one power cord. Designed in the US by a US based company and made in China... kind of like the phones made by Apple!

I assume you mean the OP's fixture isn't Bridgelux leds (because they are Epistar) and NOT that the OceanRevive isn't Bridgelux leds? Because the OceanRevive fixtures are all currently Bridgelux leds. Although from what I've heard, that may improve in the near future...

On the other hand, do you really have a problem with Epistar leds?

Nope, I don't have any issues with Epistar LEDs. Never looked em up. I threw in my 2 cents. And now I have another unit to add to it. Although I'd recommend the OR-U120 LED, being as its the same as the ones that I previously posted, and its also in the middle of the price range of the ones I linked.
