Please dont get all tang police with me, but I was wondering about this. Would it be to keep bigger tangs in smaller tanks BUT only when they are babies? Like, my LFS has had a hippo in their 90G (same size as mine) for 5 years and is only 6 inches. I was thinking about doing that and rehoming once it gets to 6 inches. Thoughts?

Tang police aside... Go for it... Just know that he will eventually outgrow the tank.

That's some major stunting my blue tang was about 8 inches in a year. Anyways I don't look down upon people who put tangs in like a 75 or 90. I still think its small but Like I said I wont hate you. I will once I hear someone wanting to put one in a 10 (or even a bowl)

I don't think it's bad honestly. As long as you really are willing to rehome the fish when it gets too big then I don't see the big deal.

I do it. But... I get them very small... like 1” or smaller.... tiny. And I rehome them when they get about 3.5-4.0” long. I’m also very particular to who they go to.
