Thinking of setting up a 40 breeder..
Here's the thing i dnt want it plumbed up to anything just gonna be using hob filters and skimmers..

Here's the equipment I want to use:
Reef octopus bh1000
Aqua Clear 110 or 70 with chemipure and some LR rubble
Intank fuge
Cobalt neo therm 150watt heater
2 mp10's or 1 mp 10/mp40
CC120 light
Tunze nano ato
RKE controller

Plan for this tank is to make it a mixed reef heavy with fish and zoas and palys and some sps and lps

Do u guys think I can keep keep a successful tank with the equipment and the approach I will be taking.. Let me hear ur thoughts..

-only reason I'm not plumbing it or drilling is cause I'm not all to familiar or comfortable my plumbing abilities..

I think if you are choosing a 40 breeder two small powerheads would be better then the single mp40. I would also buy a good Two part additive to help keep CA and Kh stable. What type of light are you using? I see it says cc120 but I am not familiar. If its a cool
Light you should be fine. I ran into temp fluctuation trouble using a halide on my 24 nano reef.

Lastly, fish make dirty water so you may want to cap off at a reasonable #. I've had some really easy to care tanks without fish. When you don't worry as much about feeding fish you can keep a better eye on the levels in your tank. Just a thought.

Good Luck

Good luck.

I'm running the BH-1000 and this skimmer rocks!! Great choice IMO :) I'm also running 1 MP10es on my 26g. IMO try starting out with 1 on your 40. I'm sure you'll find that coupled with your return you'll have more then enough flow. These MP10's are powerful lil buggers! I only have mine dialed to the 3rd light. Any higher and my fish would have no need to move their fins :)
