Threaded vs slip

I prefer slip. I have found over the long haul, most leaks come from a threaded connection.

Use slip for sure to avoid leaks. But use a small piece of pipe and then go into a PVC compression fitting. It allows you to maintenance and remove the valve as needed.

I personally use a mix of both depending on the situation. For anything that can have a small leak and not be an issue go for threaded as you can take it apart and re-use. For anything that will cause issues if it leaks go for slip and apply a generous amount of glue.

Note: I was able to salvage some of the more expensive fittings such as 2" slip unions by placing them in an oven for 5 minutes and than pry the pipe out :)
