Been busy with yard work due to the late spring. I had my granddaughters christening last weekend and am having a fam reunion this weekend so Im just chipping away at the tank when I can. I ran a USB and a E-cable for the mix-station, I will have a maxi-doser and who knows what.
I had to get the light stand mounted before the tank was set, I went with 80/20. I installed a brake kit to the linear bearing on the top two, this will allow for adjustment
The sump is Bigger than I expected and leaves no room in the cabinet, so I used tapered flat head Stainless screws, 1/4-20 x 1.5" and then drilled the holes with a 5/16" bit, this allowed me to counter sink the screws below the cabinet surface to ensure the sump will not make contact.
I had lots of help this past weekend and the tank was set. I was surprised that the front pane of the aquarium does not sit on the stand but hangs over the doors

also that the top of the stand is not one piece. The top is sandwiched between the side panels, but hey its a Red Sea so I'll trust they know what their doing. BTW the 80/20 bearing comes with a shim kit, you can see the uprights are pulling due to the brake, its only a quarter inch but still noticeable so Ill have to shim it. Next is plumbing, I have a bunch of stuff from BRS on the way, nothing fancy, I just wont a bulk head on the return and Im going to swap out the gate valve, I hear that go's after a couple of years.
Next will be Controller and Electronics Board, I will try to pull off an elder45 that pivots to access the back of the space. I am also considering a designated cabinet to the right of the tank ether way for
storage or electronics. That's it for now.
