Throttling back a mj1200

I just installed my new tlf 150 phosban reactor. I had a brand new marineland mj400 on it, but that garbage pump rattled like crazy. I swapped it for my cobalt mj1200. Its silent now, but i have the pump throttled WAY back. I just ordered a cobalt mj400 on amazon. Will the 1200 be ok until tues? Its not making any noises and its running fine.

The main issue with running pumps with flow throttled too far back is temperature. Many of them require a certain amount of flow to keep the motor cool.

If you feel the effluent from your reactor and it isn't hot the pump will be just fine.

Thanks. The gfo is just slightly "dancing" on the surface, but the effluent flow is very slow. I could probably increase it slightly, but i want to start slow, as ive never used a gfo reactor before and dont want to shock the tank. According to BRS, i should have started with about 7.5 tbsp. Im using 5 right now.
