Issue: I have a 55g tank, and I got a set of Hydor Koralia 4's (1200gph) from my brother but they are just way to powerful even with just one turned on. I contemplated getting a wave maker to cycle them instead of being constant, but wasn't sure if i'd have the same issue still or if that would help my problem some?? I spoke with Hydor and they said the Smart Wave isn't really meant for the Koralia 4's since they are not the newest "Evolution" series with on/off technology, but they said it still may work they just never tested it.
So I'm thinking it'd either be best for me to A) get rid of these and get smaller powerheads or B) give the wave maker a shot and worst case scenario, I'm out like $40 that I could hopefully recoup by reselling the Smart Wave..
I'm sure some have been in my shoes before so any thoughts on what I could do to help my issue would be appreciated.. I've read some peoples signatures and see they have multiple powerheads on tanks similar to mine and I just don't see how, because it literally goes from no motion in my tank with them off, to a tsunami once I turn them on lol.. But again, any insight is appreciated..!
Thanks!
