Thinking about getting some corals.. nice colorful zoas and palys...

I'm turning between either Tidal Gardens or WWC... both have lots of selection but which one will be better in person? Anyone have experience with either of them?

I searched and saw good feedback on TIdal but didnt find much on WWC. Or both about the same and I'll be good with either?

In person as in physically going to their store? In that I cannot say.

Online purchases from those two, my only experience is with Tidal Gardens, great stuff, good drag sizes, clean, well maintained. From everything I have seen, no reason to assume anything but the same from WWC.

I've ordered from Tidal years ago and it was an easy and good experience.

I've been to WWC old and new stores in person but never ordered. Their store and coral farm are super clean and meticulous if that's any indication of how they run their business.

I would go to the sales section on here.........the selection by some of the sellers are deep and prices are great.

Tidal Gardens way overpriced..........WWC is even worse
100% agree but be careful of scammers. Look for trustful sellers. You get way more from sellers on reef2reef

Can only speak for WWC. Have ordered from them many times. You can get affordable corals from them you just have to wait for sales. I'm not a guy that spends $100+ on frags. They do have pretty good deals during their sale and can get some great acros at a reasonable price. Also pest free and that's a plus.

I used to buy WWC corals when they used to do Ebay auctions

They don't do those anymore

They grew tired of selling 50 dollar frags to me for 5 bucks

Thanks guys!

Funny I picked out 6 zoa frags to meet the minimum $275 order at Tidal wave... and about to check out at 9:02PM last night... then I noticed the prices went to $330... what the heck... I guess the 4th of July sale was over at Eastern time 12midnight.. .I'm over in San DIego so its onl 9:02PM...

So I didnt go through with that order and went to WWC instead... Got a different 6 zoa frag over there.

Guess the choice was made for me.

I did check out the seller forums but not enough selection and shippping costs. I do buy from local reefers that post from time to time.

Hi there. Sorry about the sale ending early in your time zone. Our servers are set to Eastern Time so we are about 3 hours ahead of you. This has happened only a handful of times and the customers have always reached out to us, and we honored the discounted price for them.

As far as comparing us to another vendor. We pride ourselves on our ability to successfully aquaculture 99% of our corals over the past 18 years. Our goal is to always get a coral one time, then have it forever. Most people are surprised at how little we bring in from importers. So nearly every Zoanthid you see on our site has been in our care for years and years. Also, we have developed a reputation for sending out large frags compared to most other vendors. I just looked at the majority of our Zoanthid frags that are ready to ship out and they average from 8-15 polyps. So prices may be similar but the size of frags will be drastically different.

Good luck with your recent purchase and hopefully one day we can gain your patronage.
Thanks

It pays to mention, 99% of coral photos have the colors cranked up during photo finishing so to answer your question neither are going to spot on, produce what you see in the photos.
For best results in-person is always your best bet and its hard to beat one of the major coral meets

Reviews are going to be hit or miss because not everyone bothers to post them. Both are reputable businesses and been around for a good while.

My feedback would be to look at both portals and see if you can fill an order that meets your budget to include shipping. This way you spread love around, what the world needs more of, and can later share your experience.

Thanks for response! I will definitely give you guys a try on another order.

Unfortunately, my order with WWC had some bad luck and its on a FedEx delay.. hope the Zoas make it.

Sorry you feel that way. Currently, we have over 196 corals priced $50.00 and under with 137 of those being under $35.00.

FedEx is the worst, we switched from them many years ago because of this issue. Although UPS costs more, the amount of delays from them are next to none. Luckily, if properly packed, Zoanthids will be just fine.

i've ordered online from both. great vendors with great packaging. price-wise they seem similar, with TG having less stock available(less options?). i might have a 10$ or 10% discount code you can use if you'd like(granted i still have it) for TG

Don't forget liveaquaria. They don't always have the biggest selection but prices seem reasonable for most corals. Haven't ordered from yet but have been tempted.
