We have a fairly new 62 tideline and overall we love the tank. The dual shadow wave return nozzles do not work well, if at all. I am pretty sure the pumps are underpowered at 250 gph as well. Has anyone replaced the nozzles with loc-line? I would probably swap the pumps for mighty jets as I have one on my 32 and really like it. I am not even sure what size bulkhead we would need for the nozzle. Hoping someone here has done this and can help.

I have this and have swaped to lock line. And upgraded the pumps. Once i upgraded the pumps tank was very loud., so went back to orginal. Only bulkhead i found that would work and not have to drill are below.

Lifegard Aquatics 1/2-Inch Standard Threaded Bulkhead.. Amazon

And used with

uxcell 2 Pcs Black Duckbill Nozzle Water Outlet Return Pipe Plumbing Fitting for Aquarium...

Amazon. Can post pic in morning makes lot better flow.

The pumps i got to replace the orginals are the SICCE Syncra Silent 1.5Multi-Purpose even on its low speed tank was loud. I think issues are the overflow can't move the water in fast enough. So the retun area runs low and you hear the water crashing over the baffle.

hope that helps.

Thanks a lot. I swapped out the return pumps for the mighty jet medium size. Complete failure. They sucked the sump dry in about 30 seconds even on the lowest setting. I believe I can use the bulkhead you sent with a 1/2" locline ntp threaded connector. That would let me put on the locline random flow nozzle. I am going to swap the return pumps for the mighty jet desktop size. I primarily want them for the adjustable flow rate and feed mode. I agree that the baffles keep the water from flowing well enough in the sump area. I really like the tank but the baffles in the sump and the stupid square socks really suck.

Those returns were literally the only thing holding me back from getting that tank. If there's an easy-ish work around, I might be game to try one. The weird socks I can deal with.

As for the too much flow thing... If you're not familiar with AiO tanks, upping the flow will raise the level in the display, but also drop the level in the return pump chamber(s). Just add more saltwater until it reaches an equilibrium. I'd bet the flow from the built in weirs are oversized for the stock pumps, so it shouldn't be a matter of the pump pumping too much water (within reason).

You can find adapters for these here

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I just got the 47G version of this tank and want to replace the nozzle. For the adapter you sell, is the 1/4", 1/2", 3/4" selection for the loc-line size? For example, if I wanted to use 1/4" loc line then I would choose the 1/4" size? I wasn't sure if these tanks had different sizes of the bulkhead for the nozzle and that's what the selection was for or if it was for the loc line. Thanks!

Also I am in the Dallas area as well, just noticed where you were at!

Hi I’m in Dallas too and I’m desperately searching for a fix for my tideline 47 gallon lagoon. Like the tank hate the return section all together. I’m using a AI Axis 90 on its lowest setting and have almost had several accidents. I know the pump is large for the size tank but the 30 would be too small. I just want to replace the nozzle and see if that will work? If anyone could tell me what size and what one would work best I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks

Just responded to your PM.

Did you figure out a fix to the problem?
The 3 main things I did to make this tank 1,000x more enjoyable were:
1. Replace the pump with the DC1500 here https://www.hygger-online.com/product/hygger-dc-frequency-water-pump/
2. Replace the socks with these https://kreativereefer.com/products/tideline-aio-47-lagoon-media-basket
3. Replace the random flow nozzle with the loc line adapter linked in this thread

Do those 3 things and the tank will transform. :)

Another thing I did that isn't required is to replace one of the baffle sections in the back with a refugium with chaeto and a submersible refugium light.

OMgosh I ordered the Kreative reefer media stands last week. I’m so excited you responded! Makes me so happy to know I did the right thing.

Thanks
Allis

I was planning on doing a separate region tank so that’s go to know.

Thanks so much for your help
Allie

How much flow are you running with that pump? I have 2 sicce syncra 1.5 in my 62g but I'm never sure if I'm getting enough turn over.

Also +1 for Kreative Reefer. Good stuff.

I have the 62G Tideline g1 and it was so horrible as a saltwater tank. I converted it to a freshwater tank. I have similar complaints with flow and the filter.

The shadow returns are the worst idea ever and the dual returns for a saltwater tank is just a horrible design choice.

During a water change the acrylic overflow plate popped off the back off the tank. Tideline replaced it under warranty with a g2 version.

The g2 version dropped the horrible shadow returns for loc lines much needed improvement with flow but the terrible dual return issue continues.

The water level in the back of the tank is unstable at best. Any little thing can change the levels (pumps, filter floss) this causes the ato to go off when it shouldn’t or not go off when it should. I have tried all the aftermarket filter compartments that are super pricey and you need two of everything for this tank for each return side. It gets expensive having to double up.

Reached out to tideline to discuss and never received an answer. I’m not one for waiting or holding my breathe. They lost a customer and another company wins one.

Tired of trying to “make it work” and just pulled the trigger on a Nyos Opus 440.

Might sell the tideline but I refuse to sell it to anyone wanting it for a marine tank. I don’t wish this experience on anyone.

The size is for the loc line size

Did you ever get the Axis 90 to work? Thanks!
