Wow there are more zoos than I have time to count! Anyways I have 5 kinds, all of which I have never even tried looking up...the pet stores sell them as (who'da'thunk) Zoas. lol.

I decided, since many zoos can live together in peace, to make a 4 species tie dye frag. I had a torch coral that did not survive so i kept the frag plug for its interesting stalky skeleton. I glued one zoo polyp to 4 of the stalks. They have opened up already! i cannot wait to see this grow up.

Any clue how fast a single polyp will spread???? Pristine water, tons of food, and a partridge in a pair tree, i meant a 400 hundo watt metal halide...

As you can see, the polyp on the right is VERY SMALL. In fact, it sank into the puddle of glue, making me think that it was not going to make it. over night it busted right through it and all look like they are healthy

This will be intresting for sure. Please keep us updated on the progress!!!

will do! I just fragged more today. I'm doing a purple and orange Y lol. I also chopped up my leather tree and glued all the pieces to rocks. I'm building a frag collection to trade for a purple gorgonian thats like 2 feet tall to frag that out as well. I am basically working on starting a coral farm funded strictly off hitch hiker corals and the profits they have already made me. I haven't paid for any corals out of my own wallet, so that gives me more outage when learning new fragging techniques

IME the fastest growing zoa you glued on there will eventually crowd out the rest. But it will be fun to watch and see who wins the race

That would be the orange ones. The guy I got em from had a frag take his whole tank over. They won't smother each other though. he had various zoas Poken around amongst them. I guess they are somewhat non racist unlike a lot of other corals.
The slowest ones are the puple ones with orange fingers. I have had a frag of them for over 6 months and they made like 3 polyps :/ Gonna avoid that when it comes to selling it though haha

they wil spread out and look great i think. it may end up that some of the faster growing zoas cover or just take over but here a pic of what i think your trying to so. ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting good luck!!

Hit the nail on the head! I can't wait til it gets that full! @ 4 polyps to start, Im guessing it will take about 6 months to encapsulate the entire plug. I plan on selling it within 6 weeks though, which on average would reproduce 3 polyps per polyp if i am lucky.

I think it could take anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months to grow...every zoa is different. I actually didn't have the gel that day, i used the liquid...it worked pretty well. only works outside the water though, so I did all my fragging out of the tank.

Luckily these puppies spend hours out of water. One of the small polyps actually sunk down in the glue!!! I though it was a goner, but has started poking its fingers out of a tiny hole

The "fruit loops" (if thats even what they are) Have nearly doubled in polyps. WOOHOO!! the orange ones only have 1 new polyp. The 3rd has a baby bump on its stalk, and the Newest Zoas (unpictured) are almost ready to cut and glue, Thus having 4 types in one. OH BOY i cannot wait for this to go nuts in my tank

P.s. An accurate I.D. on these would be nice. 2 places have them called 2 separate things and they are only a mile apart.
