tierra de fuego? or no way?

think i may have lucked out but ive never had a nice piece to compare it to... i got it as a mystery frag but the tierras were in the place so im thinkin i might have gotten lucky the more this thing starts to color up. the first color it got was a nice light green, then the pinkish red started coming in on the tips. it gets more of the pink and red every time i stop and look closely.. every few days pretty much. am i just being delusional about this thing or what.? anyone else think it might be what i think it is?

When it colors up, it may look similar to the Tyree Fireball. Check out the pic on reeffarmers, growth is very similar and one of the pics has a hint of a green base.

Yeah to me and it didn't make it through shipping... They had a second one that wasn't doing well and they sent it to me as a replacement and it didn't make it either..:sad: that was back before Christmas I stare at the picture daily haha....

def not Troy. PPT doesnt have polyp structure like that and the copralite structure is very different on that coral as well. Radial coralites are way more pronounced on this one. I stare at the PPT in three different systems around here

Yeah I agree the polyps throw me off but the rest looks identical to what I got from poletti as a ppt...

That was my guess. Polyps and structure look identical to the SS i have here.

That looks nothin like a shortcake to me haha... The polyps match but the structure is way off IMHO...I have the extreme shortcake and it's way different than that piece but very similar to the original short cake..:sad: lol

haha shortcake colonies come in so often and so large that it could just be and odd looking frag, but to me it looks like it spot on. You can even see the pink highlights on the coralite ridges that are indicative of a SS as well. Who knows I could be wrong, but I am pretty confident it isnt the PPT tho; be pretty crazy for a LFS to have multiple PPT frags just lying around haha.
