Tile substrate

I've seen a few people thinking of or planning to use Tiles as a substrate. Either travertine, aragonite frag tiles etccc.

I'm curious if anyone has a mature reef with the tiles down. I'm considering it on for my future build and am curious how it looks with a full blown reef.
