Time for a new Skimmer

Currently I have the Coralife Super Skimmer and its not working out for me. I purchased it two years ago and it has been down hill from there. I have had to replace the impeller and the ceramic shaft twice already and i believe once again now. My question is what skimmers would you all go with? My setup is the 92 Gallon corner, a 30 gallon sump, and soon a 20 gallon fuge with a medium to heavy bio-load. My only limitations would be it has to be close in size. 8"x7" footprint and not over 25" tall. Thanks for any help

I think that your space is going to be your limiting factor. There are some very great smaller skimmers, they just have bigger footprints for that size and bioload. I have have used ASM and now a MRC and both are great skimmers. Do you have any room to mount it external, that would give you more options also.

i can expand on the footprint size up to around 10x10 or so, but not on the height. With it being a corner tank i have nowhere to put it except under the stand.

SWC 160 cone I think it has a 9x7 footprint

Here is one of the nicer skimmers on the market..I run the BK Mini 180. If these are the second generation, I would highly suggest it. Great footprint and height.

You could step up to the Generation II 180 or even 200.

If money is not an issue I would go with this suggestion but if money is an issue $879.99 vs. $275.00 for the SWC 160 Cone would be the way to go:bigsmile:.I run the 160 Cone on my setup and im still wondering why they sale for so cheap,they are really good skimmers.
