In case you have not been reading my too often updated tank thread, I have a 90g FOWLR and some inverts system. Currently only have 2 clown fish, a pom pom crab, an urchin and 150+ hermits and snails. I am currently waiting on buying the next fish until I am settled with my college schedule, so I figured to work on getting some more of the inverts checked off my list. I was going to add some sexy shrimp(I was thinking about 4. Any input if this is a good amount?), 3 feather dusters and a pistol/snapping shrimp. Is this too much to add at once? I was planning on not quarantining inverts, should I reconsider that? Also, any tips on knowing which end is up for the feather dusters? I looked at the ones at my LFS (which were in horrible shape) and could not tell which end from the other. And do I stick the down end in the sand or just place them on top?
I also found a tunicate in the tank this evening. Which is very exciting for me as I adore this creature. I already am feeding phyto feast to feed the pods, some barnacles and naturally occurring feather stars, which I think led to the tunicate sprouting to life. Anything else I should do for it? I would like to keep it alive if I can.
And any tips on feeding an urchin when there is no algae left? He seems to only now be eating nori as I think he is starving. I have tried lettuce (which he preferred to wear rather than eat), algae pellet/cookies, brown nori and green nori.
As an after thought, I am going to wait on the feather dusters until I am more positive about how the tank is doing (not that it is doing bad, but, I am just a bit of a worry wort and when I see things like "make sure the tank is very established" I get nervous). But I might as well ask the questions now as I will still need the answers down the road.
