In my experience 3-6 weeks if you're looking for positive reactions to changes. Parameters sometimes a little longer because I make those changes very slowly. Drastic changes in alkalinity or salinity can show negative effects on coral within 24 hrs.

Gotcha. Looking at running my alk a little lower and also thinking of ditching my t5/kessil hybrid for just the kessil.

Best I can advise is to make the alk change slowly; I murdered all of my LPS/ SPS by inadvertently increasing my alk a ton with an untested water change. If you're taking a light offline, you can just do it and see how things go over the next few weeks. Your corals may let you know quickly if they miss the T5's.

Thanks man! Only dropping alk from 10 to 9. Wife is sick of the T5s lighting the room up. Much less scatter with the kessil of course. I'm a Euphyllia dominate tank so they probably will do good with either but just was trying to get an idea running each setup how long it would take to tell what THEY prefer. Lol!
