So my power just went out and not sure when it will be back on. its a 150g tank with four fish. the biggest is a regal tang. how long can they go with out the water turning over and water air exchange before they start to run out of air?

During hurricane Irene back in 2011, I had lost power for 2 weeks. Corals lost it on day 1, temps fell down to low 60s. Fish made it till day 2 then died. By then tanks water was mid 50's and no circulation

I would say with normal temps probably a few days. You can but battery powered air pumps too to help

You should be good for at least 12+ hours with fish and no power just would keep an eye on the temp. For temp if water heats up you can always put zip locks with ice in tank and if need to heat water and you have a gas stove you can always warm a little saltwater on stove and pour back into tank slowly in an emergency.

With that big of a tank id agree with the 12+ hours. Look into getting a few of these. I am ordering some tonight as I dont look forward to the prime time of hurricane season coming and also just had a power outage and for sime reason my tank didnt turn on and 9 hours later, bam, dead mystery and flame angel :(
