Hi guys, I think its time I buy a camera that can actually take a good picture of my reef tank so i can post some pictures. Id like to know if any of you have an suggestions about a cheaper camera that takes a good picture with actinic. Id like not to spend more that $200. Much thanks!

You might be able to find a decent used point n shoot camera for that price, just make sure it has the ability to set a custom white balance. So when you're shooting with actinics on you can put a white pvc pipe in your tank, take a photo of that and save it as your white balance, then your corals will show their true colors.

I have basic canon rebel, what's best setting to take picture without becoming blue?

thanks everyone I'll start looking, but it looks like Im gonna have to spend more cash... seems on par with the norm of the hobby:rolleyes:

Sony Nex-5n. Beginner DSLR but it is a point and shoot. Easily to use. DSLR quality photos.
Here are some images I took when I first started with this camera years ago:

These were shot on Auto before I learned about the aperture, iso, manual, and other functions of a camera. It just takes patience and stability.
