Time to dose pods and plankton?

Tank is finished cycling. No coral, just a clown and two cardinalfish. It's a reefer 250 with a total volume of 65 gallons, I will not have a refigium in my setup. Still dealing with a bit of diatoms and some green algae. Wondering if it would be a good time to start adding pods and dosing plankton? I spoke to a rep at AlgaeBarn and they reccomended two packs of their galaxy pods and phyto combo. Is this something I should even do? Is ordering two packs of the combo below even the right amount and vendor? Thanks!

Sure - especially if you plan to have a mandarin dragonet.

Pods won't hurt anything and MIGHT establish a population, but more likely will mostly just get eaten. The Phyto can be an issue. It will supply a lot of organics, nitrate, and phosphate at a time when you don't have a lot of organisms in the system that can use it. That could cause a lot of Cyano and/or algae. Go very slowly when adding it.

I'd suggest adding some live rock and/or some easy soft corals before adding pods and phyto. That'll establish some organisms that can use any excess organics created by the addition of the phyto.

Deffiniatly the right vendor. I've yet to see pods comparable to algaebarns. If you get pods deffiniatly get the phyto and I think there doing some kinda deal today

Good to know. I picked up a BOGO of the galaxy pods w/ ReefMagik phyto. Excited to get it in. I'm curious to see how long the pods last without having a fuge.
