Hey guys just curious what everybody feeds their corals and their feeding schedule ? I currently have a few acans , trachy , commn leather toadstool , Duncan colony , several shrooms , a few zoas , frogspawn , sunburst Monti cap , rainbow Monti and a JF Jack o lantern frag . Most are just smaller frags as I'm just getting started in the hobby . I feed my few fish , 2 percula clowns , powder brown tang and purple tang , daily . Mostly pellets or frozen mysis . And feed coral frenzy 2 times a week . I also target feed a few corals the mysis when I feed it . Usually just the acans and the trachy. Any info would be greatly appreciated as I am newer to the hobby and wanna make sure everything is getting what they need . Thanks

Sounds like my schedule for corals. I do not feed fish daily. So keep eye on water perimeters. Nitrates and phosphates will be your enemy with daily fish feedings and poop. My mixture is a dozen or so various frozen and rehydrated powers. No pumps so the food has time to be eaten.

Yeah I was wondering about that as I've started to notice poop everywhere . I started out with a shallow sand bottom but have recently switched to bare bottom and it's a lot more noticeable.

hey tab u said u do not fish daily? ive been feeding my fish twice a day and every other day frozen food, do you think this is still too much?

Weekly tests will answer. Skimmer and water changes help keep nitrates and phosphates low. As long as you check your perimeters, do enough water changes and keep low nitrates <10 and phosphates <0.10, for most corals, then you should be fine. If nitrates and phosphates are elevating you need to make some changes.

Tab28 is correct......I am only feeding my fish every other day and my coral once a week due to an abundance of nutrients in the water. You can feed them as often as your water quality will allow.
