So its that time, i ran out of test kits and calcium and alk, just curious in the past i have used salfiret, but have heard good reviews on the red sea test kits for cal and alk, any one recommend a better test kit than salifret?

Also i have always used ESV's 2 part, was looking at brightwell and Tropic marin additives anyone have expierence with these, i only have a 45 g cube and a 40 g sump, and just run LPS (chalices, acans, z n p's)

Just curious if any one prefers something over what i have been using.

Thanks in advance.

Hi reefjunky24,

Our customers like the Salifert test kits and the ELOS test kits for accuracy, but a few of our techs have used the RedSea tests and felt that they were both accurate and easy to use.

Personally, I use the API master test kits; I know the thought is that they're not the most accurate, but as long as they aren't expired, they've always got me in the ball park and I've confirmed this with other tests including Salifert and RedSea. I hope this info helps.

I like the new red sea kits. They seem to work well to me. Before that ousts API but they didn't seem very accurate to me

I too like the new red sea kits. I've tested against seachem and salifert and elos and give the same readings. The red sea are a little more user friendly as long as you remember it's titrate used.
