Timer for a lighting system

I just upgrade 48" T5 HO 4 Lamp Light Fixture and it come with 3 timer one for white one for blue and one for night. I do not know what to set the times for for the lighting. Right now i have the white set for 9am-5pm and the blue to 5pm-8pm and the the night one set to 8pm-2am. They had it set; white set for 9am-5pm and the blue set for 9am-8pm and the night set to 8pm-6am. Can u help with this problem. I love the light fixture so far.

generally you want the blues on longer than the whites and at least a while of total darkness. if you like the times of 9am to 5pm for the whites then you can do 8am to 6pm for the blues and the night lights can be from 7am to 8am and 6pm to say 12am giving the tank 7 hours of no lights at all. just some ideas but you can adjust the times to your liking so if you have a 9 to 5 job you can change the times so the lights are on longer when you are home. hope this helps.

I agree with jester about setting the lights to your schedule. My whites are on from 2-10pm because I am home in the afternoon or evening, and blues are on from 1:30-10:30. I can't have lights on during the night as it bothers my parrots, I also notice the fish will not go into sleep mode unless all the lights are off.
