I know this has been discussed a lot recently, I have been having trouble keeping Acropora alive since my return to the hobby.
I have just returned to the hobby after a long break, I was keeping Acropora alive as far back as 26 years ago and with the knowledge we have gained since I have been away one would think it would be easy to keep them alive with vivid colours and growth.
This has not been the case for me this time around, been keeping all levels pretty much bang on but from day 1 I have struggled to keep Acropora alive and growing well, the problem starts with loss of colour little polyp extension then RTN/STN from the base, the few Acropora I can keep alive show very little signs of growth.
All other SPS are growing well and fish thriving, after running out of Ideas I decided to have my water tested by ICP everything came back bang on bar the Tin levels which were off the scale, I proceeded to do fairly large water changes which did bring the tin levels down briefly but after testing again they have crept back up.
I have been doing some research regarding tin, my final conclusion is the glass from the tank must be leaching tin in to the water as it's a new tank.
So my question is has anyone found a good way to remove the tin and keep in under control, I have been given some advice from another user on this forum but would like to get as many options as possible, any comments appreciated

Regards Daniel
