Found this guy on a zoa frag I got a while ago. I hadn't noticed him until just now.

That looks like Aiptasia... It will spread like crazy if you let it.

Cool, thanks for the ID. Googling "aiptasia" returns a majority of results like "how to get rid of aiptasia", "why to get rid of aiptasia", "why is it so hard to get rid of aiptasia", so it seems like consensus that I need to get rid of this guy now, while he's small.

Thanks!

The easiest way to deal with that in my opinion would be to pull that rock out, making note of where the aiptasia is first. It'll retract as soon as the air hits it, so just apply a bit of super glue gel over that spot and put the rock back in the tank. It won't bother the zoas at all, even if you get a little bit of superglue on the stalks.

Heh hadn't thought of that. I actually just ordered some Aiptasia-X from Amazon.com. Would you recommend the superglue over that? Seems cleaner, if I can indeed get the whole thing sealed up.

If you use Aiptasia X, then don't superglue it until maybe the next day. If you apply Aiptasia X correctly, the anemone will grab ahold of the solution and eat it, which would kill it. So the next day you should be able to look at the same spot and no longer see the anemone. At that point, you can put a dab of super glue in the spot to make sure that if there are any surviving cells that they can't regenerate.
