Tiny Black and White Worms

So I have a few of these small black and white banded worms crawling around the most bottom part of my tank in the substrate and rock work.

They SEEM to be harmless deteivores just picking at scraps.

Just curious if anybody can ID them and tell me anything about their ecology.

1-1.5cm at length tops

I can't see it clearly enough from the pic to ID, but it kind of looks like it might be some kind of peanut worm.

Does it have a clear head on one side?
 
I agree it looks like a peanut worm. The ones in my tank never stray far from their hole and eat detritus around it.
