For reference, a while back I took all my fish and put them in a hospital tank to treat for what appeared to be marine velvet and some secondary bacterial infection. I treated with kanaplex, furan-2, and cupramine and so far it has been 15 days, aka halfway through treatment, and a third of the way through my fallow period. I see what appears to be an incredibly thin brownish greenish line which appeared on both side of my angel on the exact same area (sort of following the dorsal fins curve, but around half a cm down from that). It’s almost not noticeable. Will try to provide pics but (1) emperor angel seems to be camera shy, comes glass when it sees me but flees when it sees me try to take a picture (2) the picture would likely not show the line clearly due to how small it is.

Possibly the start of HLLE (Head and Lateral Line Erosion) What are you feeding them in the qt tank?
I fed some nori, and some new life spectrum. I fed some fresh food but I try to keep that low as it polluted the water too much.

Sounds like HLLE if it's mirrored on both sides.

Could be from the heavy meds/copper combined.

I am thinking that is what it is, but I’m not sure what I can do to prevent it getting worse. I think I will just have to resort to feeding it more often with higher freshness foods, but keeping the water quality high is also tough at the moment as I don’t have the tank properly cycled, though I have set up a basic sponge filter.

Any suggestions?
