Thats awesome, JMO - thats why our "reefs" will never compare with growth rates of the ocean, lighting, flow aside we will never be able to provide food like that, its just too delicate. My friend has a 1000gal reef and he gets his water pumped in from the ocean. His corals grow ridiculously fast (inch plus per week or two for SPS). This also suggest why tanks could crash so easily. If we kill what little microfauna we have your tank will likely suffer unless you re-introduce them somehow. Fuges also help this and I see a HUGE difference in my friends corals with a large fuge (I cant have one b/c no room) I put a little pink birdsnest frag in his tank last august the size of a finger and now its a full colony atleast the size of a volleyball (120 gal tank with 6 4ft T5's, fuge is ~30gal) - it just blows my mind how fast both their corals grow.
