I have a JBJ45 and a Tunze 9004 at the moment. This skimmer only produces water in the cup no matter what I set the bubble level to. Is there anything smaller that I can use? This thing barely fits as it is with its 4.3 x 3.5 profile.

Could it be the small area that its in? The input "teeth" where the water comes in is smashed up against a wall in my filter chamber. I bet it cant work well like that. The only other place it would go is in the tank and im not putting that device in the tank and ruin the looks. I *could* tear out one of the baffles in the center section and rotate it 180*.

This will fit:

Full disclosure, I do not have this skimmer. I have the NSK-70 which is a little larger. The one I have works really well.

I don't have the stock socks like the picture shows. I have a filter floss tower on the right and the skimmer scrapes the sides and barely fits on the left. I also have a single pump with a Y fitting. If I take out the baffle near the pump I could work that maybe.

with regular h20 changes, do you need a skimmer on a nano tank?
I do a change maybe once a month on this tank... Making my water in a brute can takes hours filling and mixing, then the actual water change and Ive spent about 4-5 hours working on the tank.
