Tiny threadlike creatures growing off rock, coral , and other things

I have noticed these all around my tank and I just want to do some additional research on them but I have no idea what to look up. Thanks for your help!

Those are hydroids - most would probably recommend removal.

definitely hydroids but there are different types, some may dissappear on their own with lowering particulate foods some will explode in population then dissappear, some WILL NEVER GO AWAY AND DRIVE YOU CRAZY!!! I'd try covering them with epoxy or super glue if the numbers are small it may help, good luck!

Oh dear! Thanks for the info, I have seen them wax and wane so I will have to keep an eye on them. I do use reef roids quite a bit, it sounds like I’m part of the problem! The only coral they seem to be bothering is GSP so I might just wait to see what happens. Now to the internet for more research, thanks for the great start.
