Started with all new dry rock and dry sand. Cycled tank for three weeks then added a pair of clowns, a peppermint shrimp and 6 snails from LFS. Tank has been up for 6 weeks now.

tonight while doing some maintenance, I shut off all pumps and power heads. After a few minutes I noticed the glass on my tank was now covered with tiny white bugs moving about. I had never seen them before. But now hundreds covered my glass. I took a few pics and then turned my pumps back on. Many disappeared, but many are still clinging to the class and still moving about after a half hour or so.

Are these pods? Or something bad? Pics attached. Sorry, but my camera could not focus on them any better.

Yeah, pods. Copepods are really tiny, barely visible and almost look like specks of salt except that they move. Amphipods are a bit bigger and look like really tiny shrimp - about the size of a small ant.

I was just about to order some bottled pods too. Maybe I don't need too...
Although these pods are super tiny... My small clowns don't even seem interested or even seem to notice them... I'm guessing my pods aren't the bigger kinds they sell as food pods?

Would these have come as hitchhikers on snails? I haven't added any live rock to my tank.

Get some bottled pods. There are thousands of types, some better than others.
The ones sold are desirable for food source and cuc.

Pods pods pods! My fav thing to see in my tank! Though my mandarin keeps them in check so i buy frequently. Do you have a refugium? Do you have chaeto? May have come in that way?

I don’t know about coming in with your snails. But maybe with the water the snails or fish were in.
